Testimonials for Dr. Schumacher

“I’ve had only great experiences with Dr. Schumacher. And between myself and my kids, we’ve had plenty of experiences with various orthopedic situations. I always know we are in good hands. He treats us like family.”

- Jennifer A.

“He, Tonya, Jennie and the rest of his staff were super supportive, timely and attentive. The PT staff was terrific! I especially enjoyed their friendly ‘take no prisoners’ approach to ensuring I did my many exercises correctly and effectively. And they had good fun laughing at my many feeble attempts to master the Spazz Bow. Heather was my PT. She is first class! Both she and Greg stand correct. As they said would happen, every few weeks I realize I can again do something I couldn’t months ago. Thanks to all. Five stars for PT too.”

- Stephen S.

“Good result from treatment. So happy that the pain I had for 8 months is gone.”

- Ann R.

“Greg is a fantastic doctor. His staff is awesome – from the ladies at the front desk to his medical assistants. Tonya is great. Ginny is awesome.”

- Dennis F.

“Team Schumacher – Dr. Schumacher, PA Hotrum, and Nurse Underhill – are awesome. They listen and care about my well-being. Always timely and responsive. I am 56 years old and this was the first injury of real significance I experienced – simultaneous knee ACL, MCL and meniscus tears/injuries due to an alpine skiing fall. I recommend this team to all of my friends who experience an injury and are motivated to get back skiing, hiking, and biking on our trails and slopes.”

- John N.

“Everyone at Anchorage Fracture and Orthopedic Clinic is so professional, courteous and prompt. My mother is 90 years old and it would not be fun for her to wait a long time to be called in for her appointment. Thank you for making her visits short.”

- Lois G.

“I had ACL reconstructive surgery with Dr. Schumacher. I was pretty scared about having this surgery, but everyone was so nice and made my experience very pleasing. Thank you.”

“Dr. Schumacher’s staff was phenomenal. My Mom was here visiting when I got hurt and was very emotional about having to go back home. One of the nurses took time reassuring my mom they would take care of me and made sure my mom was feeling better before she let us leave. My mom admitted to me the day she left that she didn’t feel as anxious because she knew I was going to receive excellent care. Another one of the nurses called me every day for three days after I called with a question that led her to be concerned about potential blood clots. I finally agreed to be seen and told her I was going in right now. I didn’t call her back since it was after hours by the time I was done. Right away the next morning (Friday), I had a phone call from her co-worker checking in on me. She was out that day but made sure somebody called me to get the results and see how I was feeling. Then on Monday when she was back, she called me herself to check in. We joked that her ‘badgering’ worked and that even though I didn’t have a blood clot, I did have peace of mind. Dr. Schumacher himself was very open to how I was feeling and didn’t make me feel pressured to have surgery. While we were discussing my progress and options, he never once made me feel rushed. Overall, I could not have felt more supported, cared for, or listened to.”

- Dawn S.

“I had a severely torn left rotator cuff, and in about two weeks of the injury I was operated on, and the damage was repaired. Dr. Schumacher and his staff were very attentive to my condition and answered any questions that I had. His recovery instructions, in a sling for eight weeks and physical therapy for three months has worked out well so far as I still have two weeks left for PT. I have confidence in the repair and PT to continue a happy retirement fishing, hiking and golfing. Thanks to your doctor and your staff! The front desk staff was very efficient and professional. Thanks to them too!”

- Timothy M.

“This was the third shoulder surgery Dr. Schumacher has done for me. I trust him completely. I’m incredibly good at screwing up my shoulders through all the sports I do and wrecks I have, and he magically puts Humpty Dumpty back together again. The staff is excellent and is an in-network provider saved my life too. I would highly recommend AFOC and Greg.”

- Jennifer S.

“Excellent surgeon, fantastic nurse, and very knowledgeable PA.”

- Ronald R.

“My most recent experience was a nearly 6-month post-surgical follow-up to a comprehensive rotator cuff and related repair to my right shoulder. The surgical result was very good, and my rehab is progressing as expected. Dr. Schumacher is both a gifted surgeon and a compassionate individual willing to spend time to understand his patient’s needs and goals and clearly communicate options. I feel blessed to be his patient.”

- Randall F.

“Dr. Schumacher and his staff were wonderful! He was knowledgeable, professional, and kind. I was incredibly nervous when I first came in for my first visit, but I was put at ease right away by the front desk workers, nurses, radiology tech, and then by Dr. Schumacher. Once I found out that I did tear my ACL, I was given my options. I opted for surgery, and I was so thankful with how they worked with my schedule. I had many people tell me that Dr. Schumacher was a fantastic surgeon, but I really appreciated all the empathy and care that he and his staff provided for me. I am months post-op and I am healing well!”

- Jenniffer B.

“My surgeon was everything I could have hoped for. I instantly knew I was in the right place when I saw the photos of sports athletes in the exam rooms. Dr. Schumacher listened to my needs, rendered a thorough evaluation, gave me full disclosure on the recovery experience and range of outcomes, outlined my nonsurgical options, and allowed me to choose when to have the surgery. More importantly, I believe I received a superb technical procedure by a highly skilled professional who understood how important it is to me at this point in my life to continue participation in physical activity and sporting events. I am three months post op and have resumed most daily life activities. I am still in physical therapy and am limited in some sport activities until I regain full range of motion in the affected shoulder. But I have resumed running and stationary cycling and have been released to resume full cycling (with caution). I am working towards unlimited swimming in the coming months and sailing and fly fishing by next summer. I am grateful for the excellent medical care I received.”

- Randall F.

“Dr. Schumacher was thorough in explaining things to my husband and me. He spent ample time with us and assured that he had answered our questions. He contacted and followed up with other providers. We did not wait at all for my appointment.”

- Amy J.

“Dr. Schumacher, Tonya, and staff are a great team. From start to finish, I had a very positive experience. I would choose this team of professionals again if need be.”

- Candice B.

“I was delighted with the whole process and procedure. It was a very positive experience.”

- Kevin S.

“Was great, perfect care from the first exam to surgery. Very impressed by all the staff.”

- Eva B.

“Doctor Schumacher diagnosed the left rotator cuff injury and provided me with repair surgery promptly in January. The staff working with the doctor were professional and informative. Dr. Schumacher planned post surgery; six weeks in a sling and a slow five-month PT program because of the severity of the tear and my age. With Doctor Schumacher and his team’s encouragement, plus following their recovery process from beginning to end made the cuff repair very successful. It’s been eight months since the surgery and three weeks since completing physical therapy and I am delighted with the process that the doctor and staff provided for me.”

- Timothy M.

“First-rate; thank you very much. And the surgery and follow-up were superb.”

- Elly W.

“Friendly and competent.”

- J B.

“Dr. Schumacher is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and personal.”

- Thom J.

“Dr. Schumacher was a great listener, answered all of my questions, and eased the worries I’ve had about my knee for the past few months. I could tell he values offering high-quality care and has experience treating knee injuries.”

- Rylin M.

“Dr. Schumacher and the staff were terrific. Very informative, excellent care, and my shoulder feels the best it has in 2 years. Nothing but good things to say.”

- Jeff H.

“Dr. Schumacher was kind, thoughtful, and thorough. He supported me in pre-op choices and was professional and knowledgeable. The surgery went well, and I am recovering nicely. I appreciate all Dr. Schumacher did, especially taking the time to explain before and after surgery.”
