Jiffy Knee: A Game-Changer for Total Knee Replacements
Total knee replacements are notorious for their long, tough rehabs. But the Jiffy Knee approach offers an easier recovery.
Think you might need a total knee replacement? Consider the Jiffy Knee technique, which consistently results in less pain, easier rehab and an overall faster recovery.
Total Knee Replacement, The Traditional Way
Most total knee replacements require an incision along the front of the knee. To access the kneecap, multiple muscles and the quadriceps tendon must be cut and then stitched back together after the procedure. (These are the workhorse muscles for walking and moving up or down stairs.) When you bend your knee during rehab, the freshly repaired muscles and tendon are stretched — leading to great discomfort and a long recovery.

The Jiffy Knee Total Knee Replacement
Instead of an incision on the front of the knee, your physician gains access from the side. Your doctor will then use special instruments and techniques to slide the muscles and tendon away, rather than cutting them. At the end of the procedure, your muscles and tendon will be slid back into place. You’ll receive a plastic surgery closure, which minimizes scarring and eliminates the need to remove sutures or staples later.
