Benjamin Kennah, PA-C

Benjamin Kennah is a certified physician assistant with a strong background in both orthopedics and emergency medicine. He joined AFOC from ORCA (Orthopaedic Research Clinic Alaska) in January 2025.

Originally from Wyoming, Benjamin relocated to Alaska to attend UAA where he studied Fire Science Administration. He worked as a remote wildland firefighter for four years before becoming a paramedic. He subsequently became a Critical Care Flight Paramedic with a hospital-based team and later a private organization.

Prior to attending the University of Washington School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program known as MEDEX, he was the clinical educator for the premier air medical transport company in Alaska.

Benjamin chose orthopedics as a specialty because he enjoys helping people stay active and mobile. He spends his free time as a husband and dad, while also getting outdoors through running, swimming, biking, hunting, camping, backpacking and traveling.

Adrian B. Ryan, MD

Dr. Adrian Ryan is a board-certified sports medicine and joint replacement orthopedic surgeon specializing in the knee, shoulder and hip.

Dr. Ryan was born in Anchorage and raised in Unalakleet, where some of his family still lives. He graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and then attended the University of Washington Medical School. He completed an internship in family medicine at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. His general surgery internship and orthopedic residency were completed at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.

Dr. Ryan may be the only Alaska Native orthopedic surgeon in the world. He was a representative for the Inuit Circumpolar Conference, an international organization representing the Inuit people of the Arctic from Alaska, Canada, and Greenland, from 1998 to 2004. He was also a representative for the Indigenous Peoples’ of the North, to the Arctic Council.

His father began their family business, Ryan Air, in 1953. Dr. Ryan began flying at age 14, got his private license at 16, and his commercial license at 18. He was a commercial bush pilot from 1974 to 1982. He still flies frequently, mostly in Alaska and Oregon.

In addition to flying, Dr. Ryan enjoys traditional fly-fishing and salmon fishing. He frequently flies other Alaska Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic doctors on fishing trips. His special orthopedic interests are knee and shoulder arthroscopy and total hip and knee replacements.

PA Andrew Lamm

Andrew Lamm is a physician assistant who assists in both surgical and nonsurgical treatments to help patients restore their function and regain their mobility following an orthopedic injury or condition. Andrew works closely with Dr. Douglas Prevost.

Andrew is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. Andrew then went on to obtain a Master of Clinical Health Services from the University of Washington MEDEX Northwest Program in Seattle, Washington.

Andrew says he strives to be a trustworthy, friendly partner who helps patients achieve their health goals, all while keeping their best interest at heart.

As a native of Billings, Montana, Andrew enjoys spending his free time with friends, running, reading, woodworking, fishing and backpacking. He also loves hunting, archery, skiing, snowboarding and endlessly chasing a good cup of coffee.

Zachary Ritter, pediatric orthopedics in Anchorage AK

Zachary Ritter is a certified physician assistant who works closely with Dr. Daniel Brown to support our pediatric orthopedic patients. Zachary sees patients by appointment as well as through AFOC’s pediatric orthopedic walk-in clinic, which is the only one in Alaska supported by a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Fellowship training is the highest level of specialty training for physicians.)

Zachary started his medical career as a paramedic for the Matanuska-Susitna borough from 2010 to 2016. Afterward, he served residents across Alaska as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic. Zachary later graduated from the University of Washington physician assistant program and worked as a physician assistant for both AFOC and ORCA (Orthopaedic Research Clinic Alaska). While at ORCA, he supported Dr. Brown in pediatric orthopedics.

He is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Zachary grew up in Palmer and is a born-and-bred Alaskan. He is a father of four beautiful girls and a devoted husband. You can find him on the trails of Kincaid year round running, biking or skiing.

Gregg Zaporzan, PA-C

Gregg Zaporzan is a physician assistant who assists in both nonsurgical and surgical methods to help patients regain their mobility and restore their function following an orthopedic injury or condition. Gregg joined Alaska Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic in 2002 and works closely with Dr. Brad Sparks.

Gregg graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in natural science from the University of Alaska Anchorage in Anchorage, Alaska. He obtained his master’s degree of physician assistant studies from the University of Washington, School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington.
