When I first scheduled an appointment with Dr. Cepela, I had so much pain in my right shoulder I had to use my left hand to raise my right arm to do simple things like tuning the radio on my car or even putting the key in the ignition. Getting dressed in the morning was an exercise in pain tolerance. My first impression of Dr. Cepela was that he was very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and an excellent communicator.

In January of this year, he performed a reverse shoulder replacement on my right shoulder. The results are wonderful, and the recovery was much quicker than I ever anticipated. I was swinging a golf club tentatively but pain-free at 7 weeks. At 8 weeks I was swinging a golf club freely, and at 9 weeks we took a nine-day vacation to play golf. I played 17 pain-free rounds during that vacation.

I couldn’t be happier with the results of the surgery and the follow-up physical therapy. I have absolutely no reservation about recommending Dr. Cepela to my friends. Living pain-free is a blessing.

Dr. Cepela is excellent. He is articulate, straightforward and knowledgeable. I had a separated scapholunate ligament in my right wrist. He repaired it. 2 years later it’s strong and functional. I have pretty good range of motion and can do push ups and plank position. Grip strength is solid. I don’t have full range of motion but that’s not expected with this injury.

Dr. Flacco was wonderful! She explained the mechanics of the issues that I am having with my foot; she told me what the surgical procedure would be if the issue progressed;
and then she gave me orthotics to try to correct the problem before we resort to surgery. She is very personable while also being very professional and caring. If the orthotics do not work, I will definitely return to her for a permanent correction to the problem.

Dr. Kirkham, in a nutshell, doesn’t give up on finding the cause of his patient’s complaint. That persistence is how he helped me, and I will be forever grateful. Now for outside the nutshell: He draws from wide and varied education and experience to pursue a diagnosis and then explains what he finds in terms that are easily understood. No matter how busy he is, he takes the necessary time to listen, ask questions, and give advice. His focus is completely on you and your medical needs, not on the clock, when you are in the exam room, and he doesn’t rush the appointment. Dr. Kirkham is a skilled and personable physician, and he genuinely cares about his patients. I highly recommend him.
